But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arí Corrêa couldn't finish the play. Dormida FC's Eliseu Carioca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Dormida FC from getting a goal against them. Benê Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseu Carioca having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Dormida FC's Jerônimo Travassos got a free kick in the 19th minute. Silvinho Saraiva charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Silvinho Saraiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Arí Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Dormida FC's goal looked a bit too open when Benê Guedes came free, but Eliseu Carioca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 25 minutes, Benê Guedes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mazagao AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benê Guedes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arí Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Eliseu Carioca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benê Guedes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arí Corrêa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Eliseu Carioca made a huge save. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Eliseu Carioca successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 43rd match minute, Dormida FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danilo Rezende to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benê Guedes in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eliseu Carioca saved Dormida FC from getting behind.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for César Velasco to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Mazagao AD booed when Dormida FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerônimo Travassos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute Arí Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseu Carioca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 60 minutes, Benê Guedes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 66th minute, Benê Guedes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mazagao AD's Erivaldo Secco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Mazagao AD from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arí Corrêa in the 75th minute of play forced Dormida FC's goalkeeper Eliseu Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benê Guedes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eliseu Carioca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arí Corrêa in the 80th minute of the match. When Mazagao AD's Jano Castro in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dormida FC's goalie prevented a goal. Arí Corrêa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eliseu Carioca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. After having played for 88 minutes, Benê Guedes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mazagao AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benê Guedes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mazagao AD were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Dormida FC to leave the ground with a draw.
