The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Amadeu Quintal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sebastião Bezerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Cipriano Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amadeu Quintal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. The tension between the Abraao and the Coipe players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st match minute, Abraao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélder Tasso to maneuver through the defense. Fred Perez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Sandro Guedes made a huge save. After 23 minutes, Jacinto Vidal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Abraao and the Coipe players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jacinto Vidal kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sandro Guedes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 40th minute, Coipe's Arlindo Maranhense ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sandro Guedes. Sandro Guedes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Telmo Pombal kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sebastião Bezerra to make the kick off. Sandro Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fred Perez, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastião Bezerra in the 60th minute of play forced Coipe's goalkeeper Cipriano Cearense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amadeu Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cipriano Cearense having to interfere. In the 70th minute Fred Perez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Guedes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Amadeu Quintal came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Abraao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amadeu Quintal couldn't finish the play. Fred Perez scored 2-0 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sandro Guedes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arlindo Maranhense in the 87th minute of play forced Abraao's goalkeeper Sandro Guedes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Sílvio Luiz Machado fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Abraao's protests and gave Sílvio Luiz Machado a yellow card for diving instead. Sílvio Luiz Machado kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Sandro Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arlindo Maranhense, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 94th minute, Amadeu Quintal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Abraao fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Many of Abraao's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Abraao may have spent more time on the ball, but Coipe were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
