With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ramón Leme prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 12th match minute, Gaviaosinho SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvério Velloso to maneuver through the defense. Maurício Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 18th match minute, Chagas SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aloísio da Rocha to maneuver through the defense. João Pedro Saldanha in the 20thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Horácio Pernambucano, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Rui Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chagas SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Rui Magalhães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramón Leme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

André Luís Varela hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Rui Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramón Leme having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Chagas SS's zone, João Pedro Saldanha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Horácio Pernambucano came out of the goal and João Pedro Saldanha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When André Luís Varela came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Gaviaosinho SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Luís Varela couldn't finish the play. 76 minutes into the game, Gaviaosinho SC's André Luís Varela nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Horácio Pernambucano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Pedro Paulo Pires's late challenge caught a Chagas SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Paulo Pires helped the player get up and apologised. Pedro Paulo Pires kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Silvério Velloso charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Silvério Velloso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Silvério Velloso hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Ramón Leme made an important save on a dangerous shot by Célio Lima in the 97th minute.
