When Tião Nascimento fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caravellas EC's protests and gave Tião Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Caravellas EC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Tião Nascimento hit a great ball. Cristóvão Alcântara struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Erik Fontes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caravellas EC. Tião Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Erik Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Cristóvão Alcântara came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Caravellas EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristóvão Alcântara couldn't finish the play. Terrenos's Erik Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tião Nascimento in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute, one of Terrenos:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Terrenos. Cristóvão Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fabrício Pitta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lenílson Barros having to interfere. If Carlos Alberto Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fabrício Pitta to make the kick off. Terrenos's Erik Fontes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Terrenos from getting a goal against them. 63 minutes into the match, Terrenos's goalkeeper Erik Fontes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristóvão Alcântara. After a rather tough play, Terrenos's Vicente Quintal got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 72nd minute, Caravellas EC's Cristóvão Alcântara ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Erik Fontes. Erik Fontes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Cristóvão Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Erik Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristóvão Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Fontes having to interfere. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Terrenos's goalkeeper Erik Fontes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fabrício Pitta scored 1-2 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lenílson Barros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Tião Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caravellas EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tião Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erik Fontes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Terrenos's Erik Fontes got control of the ball when Cristóvão Alcântara tried to sneak it across the goal line. Caravellas EC played a much better game than Terrenos and deserved their victory. The Terrenos players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
