Felipe Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Luís Fabiano Vidal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th match minute, Taquarituba EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vânderson Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. After 14 minutes of play, Hosana SC's Arlindo Prestes made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sydney Pitta was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Taquarituba EC booed when Hosana SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arlindo Prestes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tadeu Carneiro kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Breckenfeld in the 28th minute of play forced Hosana SC's goalkeeper Luís Fabiano Vidal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Silva hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Taquarituba EC's Nilmar Rossi got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Sydney Pitta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jânio Rosado in the 34th minute of the match. Arlindo Prestes struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Sydney Pitta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hosana SC. Sydney Pitta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jânio Rosado in the 46th minute of the match. Valdir Melo hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jânio Rosado to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Aníbal Messias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Manuel Silva charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manuel Silva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 52nd minute, Manuel Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Taquarituba EC's Sydney Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jânio Rosado in the 59th minute of play. Vânderson Carneiro hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. A collision led to Hosana SC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Manuel Silva hit a great ball. 65 minutes into the match, Hosana SC's goalkeeper Luís Fabiano Vidal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Humberto Breckenfeld. In the 78th minute of the match Tadeu Carneiro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sydney Pitta showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Arlindo Prestes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hosana SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Arlindo Prestes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sydney Pitta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arlindo Prestes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sydney Pitta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jânio Rosado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Humberto Breckenfeld fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fabiano Vidal having to interfere. Luís Fabiano Vidal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Montenegro in the 96th minute of play. Taquarituba EC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
