Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ronaldo Arósio started the match with the kick off. After 7 played minutes Mandiu EC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Gustavo Ribeiro. 11 minutes into the match, Firmamento EC's goalkeeper Cássio Leme had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Gustavo Ribeiro. Cássio Leme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldo Arósio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cássio Leme made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Gustavo Ribeiro in the 14th minute. After 18 played minutes Firmamento EC got a freekick which was hit by Doriva Rosa. Mandiu EC's Elano Prestes couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 19th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Firmamento EC. Cássio Leme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Arósio, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After 24 played minutes Firmamento EC got a freekick which was hit by Nildo Salgado. During the 26th minute of the match Nildo Salgado completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Nildo Salgado a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Nildo Salgado kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Cássio Leme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldo Arósio in the 37th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abel Trigo during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Firmamento EC booed when Mandiu EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Trigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ademar Jacinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Naldo Linhares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ademar Jacinto made the kick off in the second half. Firmamento EC's Duarte Paranaense got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Duarte Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cássio Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Arósio in the 62nd minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Mandiu EC's goal looked a bit too open when Duarte Paranaense came free, but Naldo Linhares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ademar Jacinto got free with Naldo Linhares in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes into the match, Firmamento EC's Ademar Jacinto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Naldo Linhares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Ronaldo Arósio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cássio Leme. Firmamento EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ronaldo Arósio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. If Jeferson Goiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
