Carlos Alberto Paes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Glauco Alvarenga in the 4th minute of play. After 4 played minutes Bocaina SC got a freekick which was hit by Cido Rosado. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Cássio Félix managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jararaita SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cássio Félix was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Alberto Paes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bocaina SC's Carlos Alberto Paes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glauco Alvarenga in the 12th minute of play. Glauco Alvarenga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Márcio Linhares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bocaina SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Márcio Linhares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giuseppe Dracena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Conrado Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cássio Félix came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Jararaita SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cássio Félix couldn't finish the play. Carlos Alberto Paes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Glauco Alvarenga, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After 30 played minutes Bocaina SC got a freekick which was hit by Kléberson Brodel. Conrado Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giuseppe Dracena having to interfere. With a little luck, Bocaina SC's Carlos Alberto Paes got control of the ball when Cássio Félix tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Cássio Félix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cássio Félix might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Alberto Paes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cássio Félix ran back to his position shaking his head. Giuseppe Dracena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conrado Abreu in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Glauco Alvarenga to make the kick off. Jararaita SC were awarded a corner in the 56th minute after Bocaina SC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arnaldo Barros took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Glauco Alvarenga heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. If Márcio Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 65 minutes into the game, when Luizão Santos put in a rough tackle. In the 65th minute, one of Bocaina SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bocaina SC. In the 68th minute there was a penalty for Jararaita SC. Arnaldo Barros stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Carlos Alberto Paes. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Glauco Alvarenga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jararaita SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Glauco Alvarenga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Alberto Paes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 80 minutes into the match, Bocaina SC's goal looked a bit too open when Glauco Alvarenga came free, but Carlos Alberto Paes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Conrado Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Giuseppe Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Conrado Abreu charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Conrado Abreu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Bocaina SC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Conrado Abreu hit a great ball. 89 minutes into the game, Nestor Maciel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bocaina SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jararaita SC the free kick. In the 89th minute, Nestor Maciel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the Bocaina SC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Jararaita SC.
