Amauri Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo José Senna in the 7th minute of play. If Bernardo França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cláudio Trancoso charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cláudio Trancoso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Varzearia booed when Itapeteiu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cláudio Trancoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antônio Carlos Tande recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 20 played minutes Itapeteiu got a freekick which was hit by Gilmar Soeiro. In the 26thth minute of the game Romeu Berger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Varzearia's Amauri Marques was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Varzearia's Amauri Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeu Berger in the 30th minute of play. Varzearia's Bernardo França got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Bernardo França's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Erik Cabral was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Itapeteiu's Paulo José Senna got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Paulo José Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Varzearia getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Victor Rocha hit a great ball. Paulo José Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulo José Senna struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Amauri Marques didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itapeteiu. Bernardo França fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Cabral having to interfere. In the 74th match minute, Itapeteiu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cláudio Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. Antônio Carlos Tande fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Cabral having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Romeu Berger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 84th minute, Itapeteiu's Romeu Berger ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Amauri Marques. Amauri Marques yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. 90 minutes into the match, Varzearia's goalkeeper Amauri Marques had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Romeu Berger. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manolo de Sena during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
