In the 5th minute, Yan da Silva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Igara AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elivélton Paraíba got free with Falcão Amaral in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Roger Pimenta's late challenge caught a Igara AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roger Pimenta helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Igara AD booed when Caieiras SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Pimenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Igara AD's Chico Diniz tried to score from far away in the 13th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Elivélton Paraíba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Falcão Amaral having to interfere. A collision led to Igara AD getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Naldo Vinhas hit a great ball. Yan da Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Amauri Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Igara AD's Falcão Amaral got control of the ball when Elivélton Paraíba tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tomás de Andrade hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Yan da Silva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amauri Maranhense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. In the 33rd match minute, Caieiras SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás de Andrade to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute of the match Chico Diniz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Amauri Maranhense skillfully saved the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Caieiras SS's goal looked a bit too open when Dinei Alvarenga came free, but Amauri Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amauri Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dinei Alvarenga, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Amauri Maranhense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dinei Alvarenga's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Elivélton Paraíba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Falcão Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walmyr Santos did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Falcão Amaral 48 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Walmyr Santos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Igara AD's goal looked a bit too open when Elivélton Paraíba came free, but Falcão Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elivélton Paraíba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Falcão Amaral having to interfere. If Walmyr Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Igara AD's Dinei Alvarenga got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Yan da Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 87 minutes of play, Igara AD's Dinei Alvarenga made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amauri Maranhense was left in no man's land by his defense there! Yan da Silva might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amauri Maranhense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Yan da Silva ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 93 minutes, Dinei Alvarenga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Igara AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dinei Alvarenga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Falcão Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmyr Santos in the 98th minute of the match.
