Válter Fantini hit a great ball. 14 minutes into the match, Sapuparo's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Queirós came free, but Nildo de Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Belchior Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Pedro Queirós put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Nildo de Castro. Anselmo Vides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmir Pena having to interfere. Paulo Bertassi kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Walmir Pena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulo Bertassi in the 25th minute. Senho SC's Walmir Pena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Nascimento in the 26th minute of play. In the 26th minute, Hílton Alves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Senho SC defense, Samuel Nascimento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Walmir Pena. The Senho SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Walmir Pena should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Sapuparo's Paulo Bertassi got a free kick in the 31st minute. Nildo de Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Belchior Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Belchior Queiroz to make the kick off. Pedro Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nildo de Castro having to interfere. Pedro Queirós succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 59th playminute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Queirós got free with Nildo de Castro in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Senho SC's zone, Anselmo Vides stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walmir Pena came out of the goal and Anselmo Vides tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anselmo Vides received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Walmir Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute Anselmo Vides shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmir Pena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nildo de Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belchior Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 84th minute, Hortêncio Pimenta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sapuparo's Nildo de Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Belchior Queiroz in the 87th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Queirós got free with Nildo de Castro in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Anselmo Vides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Sapuparo supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Senho SC's performance. The match ended with a win for Senho SC.
