The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tomé Carneiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. In the 9th match minute, Camaipi AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renatinho Matorin to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Moisés Bezerra in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Walmir Pena saved Senho SC from getting behind. Tomé Carneiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Walmir Pena made a huge save. After 20 minutes, Dionísio Carvalho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Senho SC and the Camaipi AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Senho SC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Dionísio Carvalho hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the game, Moisés Bezerra recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Walmir Pena. Moisés Bezerra showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomé Carneiro got free with Walmir Pena in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Walmir Pena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moisés Bezerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Moisés Bezerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Walmir Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Tomé Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Camaipi AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomé Carneiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walmir Pena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Walmir Pena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomé Carneiro in the 44th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Senho SC's zone, Tomé Carneiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walmir Pena came out of the goal and Tomé Carneiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Moisés Bezerra was the one to do the kick off. Tomé Carneiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Walmir Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, Camaipi AD's goal looked a bit too open when Belchior Queiroz came free, but Luisão Duarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belchior Queiroz in the 69th minute of play forced Camaipi AD's goalkeeper Luisão Duarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Belchior Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd minute Tomé Carneiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmir Pena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hílton Alves kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. In the 77th minute of the match Camaipi AD got a corner. Senho SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Willian Ferraz ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Willian Ferraz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Senho SC's Walmir Pena did a great save. Camaipi AD's Luisão Duarte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Camaipi AD from getting a goal against them. After having played for 80 minutes, Tomé Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Camaipi AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomé Carneiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Camaipi AD's Luisão Duarte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Camaipi AD from getting a goal against them. Pedro Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Luisão Duarte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Camaipi AD defense, Belchior Queiroz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luisão Duarte. The Camaipi AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luisão Duarte should have stopped the shot. If Belchior Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
