After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Bebeto Ferreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tomarutema's supporters rose to their feet, but Bebeto Ferreira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wágner Mandrak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fred Damião blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luiz Gustavo Jacinto having to make a save. In the 30th minute, Lenílson dos Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Tomarutema's Rafa Costa got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Fred Damião scored 0-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luiz Gustavo Jacinto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 42 minutes into the game, Rafa Costa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tomarutema's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Trocari the free kick. In the 45th minute Fred Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Gustavo Jacinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Trocari were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fred Damião to make the kick off. Emanuel dos Santos hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Yuri de Medeiros was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 54th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Fred Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juarês Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luiz Gustavo Jacinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fred Damião, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fred Damião was extremely unlucky when he, in the 62nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 74 minutes into the match, Tomarutema's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Damião came free, but Luiz Gustavo Jacinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
