Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Leandro Mello started the match with the kick off. Dênis Félix recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leandro Mello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ernani Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernão Pombal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fernão Pombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernani Castro having to interfere. Itanara EC's Murillo de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Mello in the 23rd minute of play. Mané Cunha charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mané Cunha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 29th minute, Mané Cunha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernão Pombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernani Castro having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Ernani Lopez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ernani Castro. Pequi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernani Lopez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 38 minutes into the game, Pequi's Dênis Félix nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Murillo de Queirós made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Murillo de Queirós made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Dênis Félix sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fernão Pombal to strike the kick off in the second half. Dênis Félix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pequi's Valdir de Medeiros suffered a sore thigh after 59 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fausto Mazza during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fausto Mazza kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After 64 minutes, Reginaldo Romero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itanara EC and the Pequi players grew even worse after the yellow card. Reginaldo Romero hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Pequi's Edinho Lopes tried to score from far away in the 65th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 67 minutes into the game, one of Itanara EC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Murillo de Queirós went to the wrong direction when Edinho Lopes was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Murillo de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dênis Félix in the 91st minute of the match. Fausto Mazza hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Ernani Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernão Pombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
