The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When Nando de Almeida fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Abadia FC's protests and gave Nando de Almeida a yellow card for diving instead. Nando de Almeida hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute, Tarcisio de Mendonça made a precise shot to the right of Luiz Paulo Ramos. Abadia FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. A collision led to Abadia FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Nando de Almeida hit a great ball. Beto Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronaldão Galvão was out of position in the 18 minute of play, and Alfredão Velloso capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alfredão Velloso really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. A collision led to Abadia FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Nando de Almeida hit a great ball. Alfredão Velloso struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Ronaldão Galvão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Abadia FC. After 30 played minutes Abadia FC got a freekick which was hit by Carlinhos Arantes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tarcisio de Mendonça in the 31st minute of play forced Abadia FC's goalkeeper Luiz Paulo Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cacá Lopes struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Ronaldão Galvão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Abadia FC. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 60th minute, Nando de Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gerson Torres was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 60th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wilton Silveira during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee gave Itapina FC a penalty, 64 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gerson Torres, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Abadia FC's Luiz Paulo Ramos. 2-2. The Itapina FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
