Affonso AD's Germano Ferreira got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 14th minute, Duarte Eger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sérgio Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felippe Rodrigues having to interfere. After having played for 17 minutes, Germano Ferreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Affonso AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Germano Ferreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Affonso AD's Amauri das Neves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Affonso AD from getting a goal against them. Walmyr Pires kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Glauco Vergílio's late challenge caught a Affonso AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Glauco Vergílio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 21st match minute, Anicuns was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Glauco Vergílio to maneuver through the defense. Anicuns's Ronaldo da Fonseca got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zeca Secco charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zeca Secco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ronaldo da Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd minute, Anicuns's Aluísio Carioca dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Lenílson Vasconcelos kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Sérgio Berger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 56 played minutes Anicuns got a freekick which was hit by Glauco Vergílio. In the 57th minute, Sérgio Berger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Affonso AD's Walmyr Pires suffered a sore thigh after 60 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 60 minutes, Hugo Esteves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Anicuns and the Affonso AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 61st minute, Hugo Esteves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd match minute, Anicuns was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lenílson Vasconcelos to maneuver through the defense. Felippe Rodrigues made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Germano Ferreira sent off a good shot on target. When Nico Goiano came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Affonso AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nico Goiano couldn't finish the play. Germano Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Felippe Rodrigues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aluísio Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Amauri das Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Anicuns booed when Affonso AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeca Secco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Affonso AD's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Anicuns had won, even though Affonso AD had held more of the ball.
