Favania's Nico Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diogo Berger in the 18th minute of play. Avantiguara EC's Rodriguinho Velasco pulled a muscle in his back after 19 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 19 minutes into the game, Patrick de Brito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Favania's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Avantiguara EC the free kick. Patrick de Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felippe Velloso in the 26th minute of play forced Avantiguara EC's goalkeeper José Carlos Jacinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felippe Velloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Carlos Jacinto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Carlos Alberto Mendonça fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Avantiguara EC's protests and gave Carlos Alberto Mendonça a yellow card for diving instead. Diogo Berger hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 43rd minute of the match Giovani Araújo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Carlos Jacinto skillfully saved the ball. In the 43rd minute, Carlos Alberto Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Avantiguara EC's José Carlos Jacinto got control of the ball when Leonel Donato tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 85th match minute, Favania was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Belchior Madureira to maneuver through the defense. When Felippe Velloso came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Favania fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felippe Velloso couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Favania fully deserved thier win.
