An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexsandro Arruda in the 5th minute of play forced Ilhas's goalkeeper Mathias Pirani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Cabeceirinha's Mathias Pirani threw himself towards the right post 7 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Oséas Lago, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 32 played minutes Cabeceirinha got a freekick which was hit by Zé Carlos Lima. Cabeceirinha's Claudinei Barral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fernando Pernambucano in the 34th minute of play. Hamílton Fontes, 54 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Mathias Pirani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexsandro Arruda in the 59th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ilhas's Luís Fernando Pernambucano got a free kick in the 63rd minute. In the 68th minute, Marcel Zilles fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Claudinei Barral, passed just outside the right post. In the 75th minute, Ilhas's Luís Fernando Pernambucano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Claudinei Barral. Claudinei Barral yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. When Cipriano Goiano fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cabeceirinha's protests and gave Cipriano Goiano a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Cabeceirinha's Cipriano Goiano got a free kick in the 78th minute.
