After 15 minutes of play, Retiro's Antônio Carlos Recife made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kléber do Valle was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Cléber Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Magno Marinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Kléber do Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antônio Carlos Recife in the 26th minute of play forced Ribeira's goalkeeper Kléber do Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 28 minutes, Magno Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Retiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Magno Marinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ribeira's Kléber do Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Carlos Recife in the 33rd minute of play. Severino Guedes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel Rodrigues in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 86thth minute of the game Antônio Carlos Recife who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ribeira's Kléber do Valle was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Severino Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cléber Sá, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Cléber Sá might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Severino Guedes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cléber Sá ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 96th minute, Nelsinho Fantini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Retiro's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
