The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Augusto Breckenfeld in the 4th minute of play forced Umburana AD's goalkeeper Christian Cardozo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Augusto Breckenfeld received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. After having played for 6 minutes, Luizinho Neiva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ambo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luizinho Neiva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Zé Augusto Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 10 minutes of play, Ambo's Luizinho Neiva made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christian Cardozo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luizinho Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Cardozo having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelsinho de Godoy in the 18th minute of play forced Ambo's goalkeeper Luís Eduardo Pontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Umburana AD booed when Ambo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Vítor da Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gustavo Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Umburana AD's Gustavo Antunes got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 35 minutes into the game, Téo Tavares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ambo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Umburana AD the free kick. Téo Tavares hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. If Zé Augusto Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th minute Gustavo Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Eduardo Pontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gustavo Antunes to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Gustavo Antunes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luís Eduardo Pontes was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Luizinho Neiva scored 2-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Christian Cardozo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Umburana AD's Yuri Freire pulled a muscle in his leg after 81 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hélder Viana during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 82 played minutes Ambo got a freekick which was hit by Hélder Viana. Ambo's João Vítor da Rocha got his second yellow card of the match in the 84th minute. The referee ordered João Vítor da Rocha off the ground. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
