The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Gustavo Britto during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Crissiumal booed when Frio SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Gustavo Britto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Crissiumal's Teodoro Prestes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Agenor Medeiros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 30th minute, one of Crissiumal:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Crissiumal. The referee gave Frio SS a penalty, 31 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Luís Fernando Barreto, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Crissiumal's Orlando Valle. 0-1. In the 40th minute of the match, Teodoro Prestes got a very nice opportunity to score, but Agenor Medeiros was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Teodoro Prestes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Agenor Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldão de Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the match, Ulisses Mota notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Crissiumal's Orlando Valle. Orlando Valle was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. In the 59th minute Teodoro Prestes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agenor Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67th match minute, Crissiumal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Prestes to maneuver through the defense. Crissiumal's Orlando Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulisses Mota in the 71st minute of play. Orlando Valle was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Severino Tande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 90th match minute, Crissiumal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diamantino Vergílio to maneuver through the defense. Crissiumal's Orlando Valle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Crissiumal from getting a goal against them. Orlando Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulisses Mota in the 96th minute of the match. The Frio SS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Frio SS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
