The Pelotas EC fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when Pelotas EC's Osvaldo Vander looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After taking down the ball on Pelotas EC's corner Waldemar do Valle fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sílvio Luís de Carvalho quite easily take care of the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alberto Prado to make the kick off. The Pelotas EC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Arati AD had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
