An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Augusto Paraense in the 4th minute of play forced Pelotas EC's goalkeeper Cícero Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Dé Nogueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cícero Silveira was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Pelotas EC's Cícero Silveira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Pelotas EC from getting a goal against them. Vítor Berger didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-0 via right post in the game's 9th minute. Sales's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! Vítor Berger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Cícero Silveira made a huge save. Vítor Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cícero Silveira having to interfere. Cícero Silveira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vítor Berger in the 20th minute. Dorian Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. A collision led to Pelotas EC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Osvaldo Vander hit a great ball. Dé Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Osvaldo Vander during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Pelotas EC's Osvaldo Vander got a free kick in the 30th minute. Dé Nogueira took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cícero Silveira. Cícero Silveira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. If Alberto Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sales's Dé Nogueira got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Pelotas EC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Dorian Andrade hit a great ball. Sales's Vítor Berger got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Alberto Prado made the kick off in the second half. Cícero Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vítor Berger, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. With a little luck, Sales's Gil Azevedo got control of the ball when Fernandinho de Lara tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 68th minute Waldemar do Valle managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. After a rather tough play, Sales's Cléberson dos Santos got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Fernandinho de Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 78 minutes into the match, Sales's goalkeeper Gil Azevedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernandinho de Lara. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Alberto Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pelotas EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Prado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gil Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cícero Silveira came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Sales's Dé Nogueira. But to his dismay, Dé Nogueira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After 85 minutes, Vítor Berger made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Pelotas EC's Cícero Silveira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 91 minutes into the match, Sales's Dé Nogueira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cícero Silveira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thiago Souto's late challenge caught a Pelotas EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thiago Souto helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Pelotas EC booed when Sales was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thiago Souto didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sales fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pelotas EC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
