Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Luís Fábio Souto made the kick off which started today's match. 4 minutes into the match, José Augusto Carneiro notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Quatis's Falcão Cordeiro. Falcão Cordeiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If José Augusto Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nico Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Falcão Cordeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Augusto Carneiro in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd match minute, Quatis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Paulo Meirelles to maneuver through the defense. Luís Fábio Souto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Falcão Cordeiro having to interfere. Renato Madureira made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Américo Maciel sent off a good shot on target. José Augusto Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th minute, Cafu Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Nico Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, Marimba's goal looked a bit too open when Nico Gonçalves came free, but Renato Madureira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Fábio Souto hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After the first half Marimba were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nico Gonçalves to make the kick off. In the 60th minute, Nico Gonçalves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 61 minutes into the match, Marimba's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolas Duarte came free, but Renato Madureira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Renato Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Nicolas Duarte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Marimba's zone, Nicolas Duarte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Renato Madureira came out of the goal and Nicolas Duarte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Quatis booed when Marimba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cafu Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Renato Madureira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicolas Duarte's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. After having played for 81 minutes, Luís Fábio Souto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marimba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Fábio Souto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If José Augusto Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Fábio Souto might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Falcão Cordeiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Fábio Souto ran back to his position shaking his head. Marimba's Luís Fábio Souto got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 97th minute, Marimba's Luís Fábio Souto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Falcão Cordeiro. Falcão Cordeiro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3.
