Adriano Vander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Enio Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 18 minutes into the match, Hílton de Brito notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Mucuri EC's Enio Motta. Enio Motta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Marquinhos Antunes came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Mucuri EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marquinhos Antunes couldn't finish the play. Vágner Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Pernambucano in the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marquinhos Antunes in the 36th minute of play forced Combate SC's goalkeeper Vágner Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maurício Veiga missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 39 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Vágner Toledo right hand side. In the 48th match minute, Combate SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Otávio Berger to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adriano Vander made a kick off. Enio Motta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Vander, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Marquinhos Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner Toledo having to interfere. In the 58th match minute, Combate SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldemar Pitta to maneuver through the defense. Mucuri EC's Maurício Veiga couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 59th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Combate SC. Marquinhos Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marquinhos Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Vágner Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Mucuri EC's zone, Hílton de Brito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enio Motta came out of the goal and Hílton de Brito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcus Pernambucano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Combate SC's zone, Marquinhos Antunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vágner Toledo came out of the goal and Marquinhos Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Combate SC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Mucuri EC had controlled the match.
