Arnaldo Peres yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. When Clemente Vianna came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Crisolita EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clemente Vianna couldn't finish the play. When Rafa Secco fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marineli's protests and gave Rafa Secco a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Crisolita EC booed when Marineli was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafa Secco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nildo Garcia, 18 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Fernão Quaresma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tadeu de Almeida in the 21st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Marineli's Valdomiro Pena got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After 24 played minutes, Crisolita EC's Nildo Garcia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Arnaldo Peres came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Crisolita EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clemente Vianna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wiliam Negri struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Fernão Quaresma didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marineli. Fernão Quaresma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wiliam Negri, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Fernão Quaresma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeu de Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th match minute, Marineli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdomiro Pena to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tadeu de Almeida stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Toninho Cabral's late challenge caught a Crisolita EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toninho Cabral helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Marineli's Toninho Cabral got a free kick in the 51st minute. After a rather tough play, Marineli's Juarês Porto got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute Clemente Vianna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnaldo Peres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeu de Almeida in the 93rd minute of play forced Crisolita EC's goalkeeper Fernão Quaresma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
