An unexpectedly hard shot by Amauri de Azevedo in the 3rd minute of play forced Carvalho's goalkeeper Carlos Alberto Gaspar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amauri de Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Carlos Alberto Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 15 minutes into the match, Belmiro Varela had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlos Alberto Gaspar. Carvalho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Belmiro Varela was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Amauri de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abelardo Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gugu Vidal during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Carvalho's Gugu Vidal got a free kick in the 28th minute. Carlos Alberto Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amauri de Azevedo in the 30th minute of play. 31 minutes into the game, André Luís Mazza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carvalho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uacurutuba the free kick. Uacurutuba's Vânderson Leão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Uacurutuba from getting a goal against them. Zé Loureiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Carlos Alberto Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edvaldo Mangueira during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 38th match minute, Carvalho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edvaldo Mangueira to maneuver through the defense. Amauri de Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Carvalho getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. André Luís Mazza hit a great ball. João Neiva kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

In the 55th minute, Amadeu Moreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abelardo Andrade in the 58th minute of play forced Uacurutuba's goalkeeper Vânderson Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Alberto Gaspar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amauri de Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute, Amauri de Azevedo fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Vânderson Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rony Cerezo in the 70th minute of play. A hard shot 72 in the game by Zé Loureiro from a close distance when the talented Carlos Alberto Gaspar managed to make a qualified save. Carvalho's players were relieved. In the 75th minute, Edvaldo Mangueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carvalho's Carlos Alberto Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amauri de Azevedo in the 76th minute of play. Rony Cerezo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Amauri de Azevedo struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Carlos Alberto Gaspar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uacurutuba. 93 minutes into the match, Carvalho's goal looked a bit too open when Belmiro Varela came free, but Carlos Alberto Gaspar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Manolo Massa fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Uacurutuba's protests and gave Manolo Massa a yellow card for diving instead. Manolo Massa hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. The Carvalho supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Uacurutuba's performance. The match ended with a win for Uacurutuba.
