The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Corunha EC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Francisco Pinheiro hit a great ball. Francisco Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolas Tavares having to interfere. If Alan Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Alan Sarmento came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Corunha EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alan Sarmento couldn't finish the play. If Francisco Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alan Sarmento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolas Tavares having to interfere. Corunha EC's Alan Sarmento got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dionísio Reis kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Alan Sarmento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Danilo Carneiro's late challenge caught a Argolo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Danilo Carneiro helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Corunha EC's Danilo Carneiro got a free kick in the 45th minute. Ronaldão Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilmar Cavalcante having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alan Sarmento to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Argolo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Pitta to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Pinheiro got free with Nicolas Tavares in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 57 minutes into the game, Bernardo Tróia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Argolo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Corunha EC the free kick. After 58 played minutes Argolo FC got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Tróia. Alan Sarmento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nicolas Tavares didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Corunha EC's Francisco Pinheiro shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. 66 minutes into the match, Corunha EC's goal looked a bit too open when Agostinho Valladares came free, but Nilmar Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Argolo FC booed when Corunha EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armandinho Mesquita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Francisco Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronaldão Cunha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nilmar Cavalcante read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. If Celso Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ronaldão Cunha scored 1-1 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nilmar Cavalcante, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Corunha EC's Nilmar Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafa Vergílio in the 88th minute of play. If Francisco Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Alan Sarmento came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Corunha EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alan Sarmento couldn't finish the play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
