Erivaldo Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Viadutos's zone, Sandro Mandrak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baltazar Nascimento came out of the goal and Sandro Mandrak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Viadutos were furious when Aluísio Faustino was red carded, 8 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 7th minute, one of Viadutos:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Viadutos. The referee gave Caucaia EC a penalty, 10 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Agnaldo Luz, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Viadutos's Baltazar Nascimento. 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Deivid Chaves got free with Erivaldo Araújo in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 18th match minute, Viadutos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serginho Mandrak to maneuver through the defense. If Murilo Favoretto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Murilo Favoretto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baltazar Nascimento was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Murilo Favoretto in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Baltazar Nascimento saved Viadutos from getting behind. Dráusio Recife charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dráusio Recife the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sandro Mandrak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Nascimento having to interfere. Baltazar Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murilo Favoretto, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The supporters of Caucaia EC booed when Viadutos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafael da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caucaia EC's Agnaldo Luz couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 38th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Viadutos. When Murilo Favoretto came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Caucaia EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Murilo Favoretto couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandro Mandrak in the 48th minute of play forced Viadutos's goalkeeper Baltazar Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Deivid Chaves stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Sandro Mandrak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Deivid Chaves came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Viadutos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deivid Chaves couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Viadutos getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Rafael da Cunha hit a great ball. Murilo Favoretto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Nascimento having to interfere. Sandro Mandrak's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Baltazar Nascimento firmly grabbed it by the left post. Baltazar Nascimento made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Sandro Mandrak sent off a good shot on target. In the 80th minute Murilo Favoretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baltazar Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd match minute, Viadutos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dráusio Recife to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute, Viadutos's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sandro Mandrak fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 88 minutes of play, Viadutos's Deivid Chaves made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Erivaldo Araújo was left in no man's land by his defense there! 92 minutes into the match, Viadutos's Deivid Chaves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erivaldo Araújo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
