The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rogério Seco kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Evaristo Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Nogueira in the 6th minute of the match. Evaristo Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cássio Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Allan Martins struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Evaristo Medeiros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ibiapaba. If Cássio Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adelino Reis kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 17th match minute, Republica AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Mumbach to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the match, Republica AD's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio Nogueira came free, but Evaristo Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Nogueira in the 24th minute of play forced Republica AD's goalkeeper Evaristo Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Rogério Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cássio Nogueira to make the kick off. Umberto Cabral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Evaristo Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, Republica AD's goalkeeper Evaristo Medeiros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Umberto Cabral. Zé Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adelino Gaúcho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manolo Berger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 68 minutes, Adelino Gaúcho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Republica AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adelino Gaúcho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zé Queiroz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Hermes, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Republica AD's Evaristo Medeiros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Republica AD from getting a goal against them. Rogério Seco charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Zé Queiroz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 86 minutes into the game, Republica AD's Lucas Hermes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Queiroz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Ibiapaba's Cássio Nogueira got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adelino Gaúcho might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé Queiroz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adelino Gaúcho ran back to his position shaking his head. When Lucas Hermes came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Republica AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Hermes couldn't finish the play.
