Pedro Severo started the match with the kick off. If Vitinho de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vitinho de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidney Macedo having to interfere. In the 16th match minute, Itapetingui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dito Moraes to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Ibitiuva booed when Itapetingui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dito Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nico Mumbach took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Umberto Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vitinho de Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Sidney Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Umberto Queirós in the 27th minute of play forced Itapetingui's goalkeeper Nico Mumbach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Umberto Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nico Mumbach having to interfere. Nico Mumbach showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vágner Maciel in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 33rd minute, Vitinho de Azevedo fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Sidney Macedo, passed just outside the right post. If Umberto Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nico Mumbach came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ibitiuva's Umberto Queirós. But to his dismay, Umberto Queirós quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Umberto Queirós made a kick off. Pedro Severo took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sidney Macedo. Sidney Macedo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 56th minute, Marcelo de Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Severo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Sidney Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. César Pontes kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Sidney Borges took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 67th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nico Mumbach. Itapetingui's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Itapetingui's Wilian Toledo got a free kick in the 68th minute. With a little luck, Itapetingui's Nico Mumbach got control of the ball when Vágner Maciel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nico Mumbach was a little too slow when Umberto Queirós got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 1-2. Pedro Severo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sidney Macedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Nico Mumbach made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Vágner Maciel sent off a good shot on target. Umberto Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Severo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sidney Macedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. A collision led to Ibitiuva getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Serafim Tróia hit a great ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ibitiuva had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
