Jerônimo Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 29th match minute, Mococa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donatello Fernandez to maneuver through the defense. Falcão de Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agostinho Severo in the 37th minute of the match. If Vágner Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 51 minutes Mococa's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Marcelinho Rodrigues who took care of the corner kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Zé Paulo Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizão Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. If Luizão Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jerônimo Vinhas, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 64 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Zé Paulo Correia was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 70 minutes in the game, Vágner Tavares fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Falcão de Brito having to interfere. In the 78th minute Vágner Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Falcão de Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, Mococa's goal looked a bit too open when Jerônimo Vinhas came free, but Zé Paulo Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dinei Neiva charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dinei Neiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Zé Paulo Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerônimo Vinhas in the 92nd minute of the match. Falcão de Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vágner Tavares in the 96th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Mococa's zone, Luizão Dias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Paulo Correia came out of the goal and Luizão Dias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
