Isaltino de Queiroz's late challenge caught a Ipaobi SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isaltino de Queiroz helped the player get up and apologised. Richard Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the game, Dário Quintal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ipaobi SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Crimea EC the free kick. After 21 played minutes, Crimea EC's Jorge Dantas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lino França came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Crimea EC reached it. A collision led to Ipaobi SS getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. João Pombal hit a great ball. If Doriva Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lino França showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doriva Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Marco Dracena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Richard Trigo in the 33rd minute. Richard Trigo struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Marco Dracena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ipaobi SS. After having played for 41 minutes, Richard Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ipaobi SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard Trigo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th minute Murilo de Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino França saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Doriva Ribeiro made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Ipaobi SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélio Toscano to maneuver through the defense. The referee ignored Ipaobi SS's protests and gave Amadeu Hames a yellow card for diving instead. When Murilo de Andrade came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Crimea EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Murilo de Andrade couldn't finish the play. Crimea EC's Adelino Marquez got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Richard Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard Trigo struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Marco Dracena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ipaobi SS. Crimea EC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Ipaobi SS's much stronger midfield.
