The referee gave Albinopolis a penalty, 4 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mazinho Freitas, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Miguelopolis's Arnaldo Favoretto. 0-1. In the 7th minute, Benê Paulista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benê Paulista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celsinho Lima having to interfere. When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Breno Rezende sped through Albinopolis's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Celsinho Lima. After 23 minutes, Frank Aguiar made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Miguelopolis's Arnaldo Favoretto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 26 played minutes Albinopolis got a freekick which was hit by Frank Aguiar. When Frank Aguiar came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Albinopolis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Aguiar couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Aguiar in the 32nd minute of play forced Miguelopolis's goalkeeper Arnaldo Favoretto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 37 minutes, Benê Paulista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Miguelopolis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benê Paulista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Albinopolis's goalkeeper Celsinho Lima, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 44th match minute, Albinopolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celso Galvão to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the game, Celso Galvão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Albinopolis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Miguelopolis the free kick. In the 46th match minute, Albinopolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celso Galvão to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Benê Paulista to strike the kick off in the second half. Edgar Cardoso hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Arnaldo Favoretto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gino Dantas, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Frank Aguiar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Arnaldo Favoretto made a huge save. Miguelopolis's Benê Paulista got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Miguelopolis's goalkeeper Arnaldo Favoretto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Frank Aguiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Favoretto having to interfere. Gino Dantas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 85 minutes into the match, Mazinho Freitas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnaldo Favoretto. Miguelopolis's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mazinho Freitas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. After a rather tough play, Albinopolis's Frank Aguiar got a free kick in the 93rd minute.
