Breno Mesquita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Haroldo Gomes fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Figueiredo's protests and gave Haroldo Gomes a yellow card for diving instead. If Breno Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. With a little luck, Bombinhas's Tadeu Luz got control of the ball when Osvaldinho Vasconcelos tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Frédson Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Bombinhas's Diamantino Correia slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Álvaro Linhares. That made the score 1-1 after 72 minutes of play. Diamantino Correia kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Frédson Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Breno Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tadeu Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldinho Vasconcelos in the 92nd minute of play. Figueiredo's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
