In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vertentes FC's goalkeeper Gláuber Borges, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Válbson Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 30 played minutes, Vertentes FC's Valdomiro Paraibano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Denílson Monteiro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vertentes FC reached it. Renan Xavier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gláuber Borges having to interfere. Ivo Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Denílson Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivo Oliveira to make the kick off. The Vertentes FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The supporters of Frois booed when Vertentes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murilo Jacinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute, Frois's Renan Xavier ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gláuber Borges. Gláuber Borges yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Sílvio Eger hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Denílson Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivo Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivo Oliveira succeeded in the game's 71st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. A collision led to Frois getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Dedé Pinheiro hit a great ball. In the 80th minute of the match Murilo Jacinto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Denílson Monteiro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ivo Oliveira struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Denílson Monteiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vertentes FC. Frois's Denílson Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betão Veiga in the 85th minute of play. After 86 minutes, Dedé Pinheiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Frois and the Vertentes FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dedé Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Gláuber Borges showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renan Xavier in the 92nd minute of the match. 93 minutes into the game, Ian Trigo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vertentes FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Frois the free kick. After a rather tough play, Vertentes FC's Ian Trigo got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Gláuber Borges showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renan Xavier, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Frois players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Vertentes FC.
