Gernando Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Deivid Garcia might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz de Mendonça. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Deivid Garcia ran back to his position shaking his head. Luiz de Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gernando Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After 19 played minutes, Lucas AD's Dagoberto Paes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kléber Lucas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lucas AD reached it. After 24 minutes of play, Lucas AD's Luizinho Teixeira made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kléber Lucas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Deivid Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kléber Lucas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Décio Paraibano's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Luiz de Mendonça made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Deivid Garcia sent off a good shot on target. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Márcio Matos hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Deivid Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz de Mendonça having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Deivid Garcia in the 58th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Deivid Garcia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luiz de Mendonça read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Luís Fábio Palmeira charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Fábio Palmeira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 65th match minute, Lucas AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Fábio Palmeira to maneuver through the defense. Dionísio Netto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kléber Lucas came out and tried to block the shot, but Dionísio Netto slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 67th minute. In the 72nd minute of the match Dagoberto Paes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kléber Lucas skillfully saved the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Lucas AD's Luizinho Teixeira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kléber Lucas. That made the score 0-3 after 76 minutes of play. If Luizinho Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luiz de Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gernando Lima in the 83rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Lucas AD's zone, Deivid Garcia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz de Mendonça came out of the goal and Deivid Garcia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gernando Lima in the 89th minute of play forced Lucas AD's goalkeeper Luiz de Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lucas AD's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
