Aníbal Fantini's late challenge caught a Salsas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aníbal Fantini helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Salsas booed when Reuniao FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aníbal Fantini didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by Reuniao FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcelo da Silveira was slow to take the kick. During this time Salsas's players had a chance to rest. 15 minutes into the game, Adalberto Perez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Reuniao FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Salsas the free kick. In the 14th minute, one of Reuniao FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Reuniao FC. In the 25th match minute, Salsas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedito de Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. Aníbal Fantini, 26 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Edmundo Mumbach struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Luiz Fabiano Tavares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Reuniao FC. After a defensive mix-up in Reuniao FC's zone, Diego Novaes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hamílton dos Santos came out of the goal and Diego Novaes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Diego Novaes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Hamílton dos Santos made a huge save. Edmundo Mumbach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Edmundo Mumbach in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Luiz Fabiano Tavares, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 53rd minute, Samuel Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugênio Arce in the 56th minute of play forced Salsas's goalkeeper Luiz Fabiano Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hamílton dos Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Novaes in the 67th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute Eugênio Arce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fabiano Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Salsas's goal looked a bit too open when Eugênio Arce came free, but Luiz Fabiano Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edmundo Mumbach could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Luiz Fabiano Tavares made a huge save. A collision led to Salsas getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Guto Lopez hit a great ball. If Edmundo Mumbach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 82 played minutes Salsas got a freekick which was hit by Guto Lopez. Diego Novaes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Renato Barral hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Diego Novaes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Salsas fans cheered their team off the field, for while Reuniao FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
