The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, João Augusto Nogueira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Adalmo de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th match minute, Guaipava AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elivélton Lima to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Guaipava AD's zone, Adalmo de Almeida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Augusto Pena came out of the goal and Adalmo de Almeida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adalmo de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Augusto Pena having to interfere. João Augusto Nogueira hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Ivo dos Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 48 minutes into the game, Gabriel Berger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guaipava AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lucianos SS the free kick. In the 48th match minute, Guaipava AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Berger to maneuver through the defense. Faustão Albuquerque didn't quite understand what happened when in the 50 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adalmo de Almeida was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Pedro Carvalho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guaipava AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lucianos SS the free kick. The supporters of Lucianos SS booed when Guaipava AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Guaipava AD getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Nilson Zilles hit a great ball. João Augusto Pena made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Augusto Nogueira in the 60th minute. After a rather tough play, Guaipava AD's Nilson Zilles got a free kick in the 61st minute. Adalmo de Almeida might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Augusto Pena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adalmo de Almeida ran back to his position shaking his head. When Lucianos SS's Adalmo de Almeida in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Guaipava AD's goalie prevented a goal. With his leg João Augusto Pena managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Lucianos SS's Adalmo de Almeida fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Guaipava AD getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Oswaldo Dracena hit a great ball. Lucianos SS's Adalmo de Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. João Augusto Nogueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. João Augusto Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Lucianos SS booed when Guaipava AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elivélton Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucianos SS's Adalmo de Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rodriguinho Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Richard Urbano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 94 minutes into the game, Adalmo de Almeida recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of João Augusto Pena. Adalmo de Almeida showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. When the match was over Lucianos SS could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Guaipava AD throughout the match.
