Rodolfo Amaral was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 8th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Luiz Fabiano Nogueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Danilo Britto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th minute Luiz Fabiano Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danilo Britto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Campinorte's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Luiz Fabiano Nogueira scored to the left of an out of position Danilo Britto, making the score, 1-0. Luiz Fabiano Nogueira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Danilo Britto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Piraua SS's Bruninho Dracena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodrigo de Godoy in the 26th minute of play. Rodrigo de Godoy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruninho Dracena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramón Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute, Davi Xavier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Belmiro Mello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Britto having to interfere. Belmiro Mello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute Rodrigo de Godoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruninho Dracena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ramón Abreu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Piraua SS's Bruninho Dracena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Piraua SS from getting a goal against them. Belmiro Mello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Piraua SS booed when Campinorte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Maria Freire didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fabiano Nogueira in the 58th minute of play forced Campinorte's goalkeeper Danilo Britto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60thth minute of the game Luiz Fabiano Nogueira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Campinorte's Danilo Britto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leopoldo Vergílio's late challenge caught a Piraua SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leopoldo Vergílio helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Campinorte's Leopoldo Vergílio got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Armando Bittencourt helped the player get up and apologised. In the 75th match minute, Piraua SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Bittencourt to maneuver through the defense. Rodolfo Amaral was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 76th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Belmiro Mello struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Danilo Britto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piraua SS.
