Reinaldo Teles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Dedé Arce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dinei de Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dinei de Souza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Diego da Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Túlio de Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ourives SC's Fellipe Quadros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernani Mota in the 48th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Túlio de Mendonça stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedito Queirós in the 54th minute of play forced Campolide's goalkeeper Dedé Arce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Campolide getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Charles Varela hit a great ball. Benedito Queirós's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dedé Arce read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. The supporters of Ourives SC booed when Campolide was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wágner Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diego da Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Campolide's Túlio de Mendonça got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wágner Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Fellipe Quadros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fellipe Quadros was a little too slow when Túlio de Mendonça got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 79th minute. The score was now 1-2. Túlio de Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fellipe Quadros having to interfere. Túlio de Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Campolide eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
