Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Víktor Nogueira started the match with the kick off. Guga Fantini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. José Vítor Porto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 5 minutes into the match, Ostras's goal looked a bit too open when Víktor Nogueira came free, but José Vítor Porto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Guga Fantini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itambacuri EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Guga Fantini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Vítor Porto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Ostras's Tião Pinheiro got a free kick in the 12th minute. Afonsinho Netto was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jardel Velloso showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. Ismael Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Afonsinho Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Guga Fantini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Itambacuri EC's Víktor Nogueira in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ostras's goalie prevented a goal. In the 37thth minute of the game Jardel Velloso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itambacuri EC's Afonsinho Netto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cido da Silva made a great header on Ostras's corner, it was just that Itambacuri EC's Afonsinho Netto managed to reach the ball for a save. If Víktor Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Carlos Braga hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After having played for 48 minutes, Víktor Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itambacuri EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Víktor Nogueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The wind increased when Jardel Velloso made the kick off in the second half. Pedrinho de Mendonça's late challenge caught a Ostras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedrinho de Mendonça helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Itambacuri EC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Pedrinho de Mendonça hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Itambacuri EC defense, José Carlos Braga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Afonsinho Netto. The Itambacuri EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Afonsinho Netto should have stopped the shot. José Vítor Porto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Víktor Nogueira in the 70th minute of play. In the 72nd minute Itambacuri EC were awarded a corner. Jonas Recife went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Jonas Recife got away a dangerous shot. Despite this José Vítor Porto quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guga Fantini got free with José Vítor Porto in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ismael Gaúcho in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Afonsinho Netto saved Itambacuri EC from getting behind. Afonsinho Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismael Gaúcho, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute Ismael Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonsinho Netto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Víktor Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Víktor Nogueira came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Itambacuri EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Víktor Nogueira couldn't finish the play. In the 89th match minute, Ostras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Carlos Braga to maneuver through the defense. 91 minutes into the match, Guga Fantini had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Vítor Porto. Ostras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guga Fantini was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Jardel Velloso scored 3-2 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Afonsinho Netto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Itambacuri EC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
