The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Luís Fábio Hoffmann fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ipane EC's protests and gave Luís Fábio Hoffmann a yellow card for diving instead. Ronaldinho Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmyr Koehler in the 15th minute of play forced Camarua SS's goalkeeper Orlando Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Walmyr Koehler came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Ipane EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walmyr Koehler couldn't finish the play. If Walmyr Koehler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evandro Faustino charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Evandro Faustino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th minute, one of Ipane EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ipane EC. Orlando Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe do Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evandro Faustino kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. With a little luck, Ipane EC's Romeu Lima got control of the ball when Ronaldinho Valladares tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ipane EC's Romeu Lima proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Ipane EC from getting a goal against them. In the 44thth minute of the game Walmyr Koehler who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Camarua SS's Orlando Velasco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Tadeu Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Renatinho Madureira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeu Leão in the 53rd minute of play forced Camarua SS's goalkeeper Orlando Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Ipane EC's Inácio Saraiva got a free kick in the 55th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Ronaldinho Valladares notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Ipane EC's Romeu Lima. Romeu Lima was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Ronaldinho Valladares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renatinho Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the match, Ipane EC's goal looked a bit too open when Renatinho Madureira came free, but Romeu Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 66 played minutes Ipane EC got a freekick which was hit by Evandro Faustino. 76 minutes into the match, Camarua SS's goalkeeper Orlando Velasco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walmyr Koehler. Walmyr Koehler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romeu Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldinho Valladares, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Romeu Lima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldinho Valladares in the 84th minute of the match. Luís Fábio Hoffmann was shown his second yellow card after 84 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Romeu Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renatinho Madureira in the 88th minute of play. Romeu Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldinho Valladares, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Renatinho Madureira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Romeu Lima. Ipane EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Renatinho Madureira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldinho Valladares in the 95th minute of play forced Ipane EC's goalkeeper Romeu Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ipane EC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
