Camarua SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fortaleza the free kick. After 12 minutes of play Camarua SS's Virgílio Silva was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 13th match minute, Camarua SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgílio Silva to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th minute, Lino Tróia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Camarua SS's Orlando Velasco got control of the ball when Dedé de Souza tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 23 minutes, Renatinho Madureira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Camarua SS and the Fortaleza players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fernandinho Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldinho Valladares, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. If Délio Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 73rd minute, Délio Garcia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cipriano Tróia during the 75th minute. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fortaleza reached it. Fernandinho Quadros came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Camarua SS's Ronaldinho Valladares. But to his dismay, Ronaldinho Valladares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When the final whistle sounded Camarua SS left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Fortaleza.
