After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, José Maria da Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tauna's supporters rose to their feet, but José Maria da Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charles Rossi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Severino de Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Tauna's zone, Severino de Toledo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francisco Paiva came out of the goal and Severino de Toledo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 16 minutes into the game, Vito Maia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lindo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tauna the free kick. A collision led to Lindo getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Vito Maia hit a great ball. Tauna's José Maria da Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. David Maciel kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. If José Maria da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute, José Maria da Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 23 played minutes Lindo got a freekick which was hit by David Maciel. José Maria da Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Charles Rossi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Filipe Dantas in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Charles Rossi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lindo's Charles Rossi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Lindo from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Severino de Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lindo's Vito Maia got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vito Maia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Lindo's Vito Maia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Francisco Paiva narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Charles Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Maria da Costa in the 58th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Maria da Costa in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Charles Rossi saved Lindo from getting behind. Severino de Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tauna's Francisco Paiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Tauna from getting a goal against them. Severino de Toledo did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-1 to the left of a surprised Francisco Paiva 72 minutes into the match. Manoel Paes's late challenge caught a Lindo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manoel Paes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 79th minute, Severino de Toledo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lindo's Vito Maia got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 85th minute, Manoel Paes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If José Maria da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Severino de Toledo scored 0-2 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Francisco Paiva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 96 played minutes, Tauna's Vicente Amorim shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Charles Rossi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tauna reached it. The Lindo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lindo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
