Lindo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caico SS the free kick. After a rather tough play, Lindo's Geovânio Alagoano got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Caico SS's goalkeeper Laércio Pinheiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pedro Luiz Vides received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Laércio Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Vito Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The long shot by Cássio Ribeiro in the 33rd minute really tested Laércio Pinheiro's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When Christiano Abraão fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lindo's protests and gave Christiano Abraão a yellow card for diving instead. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedro Luiz Vides to make the kick off. The coaching staff of Caico SS protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Anísio Cabral had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 78th minute of the game. One of Caico SS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lindo:s goal. If Vito Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
