A collision led to Tauna getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Vicente Amorim hit a great ball. After 6 played minutes Caico SS got a freekick which was hit by André Luís Montenegro. Filipe Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laércio Pinheiro having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Maria da Costa got free with Laércio Pinheiro in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Caico SS's Fred Trancoso got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 20th minute of the match, José Maria da Costa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Laércio Pinheiro was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Tauna booed when Caico SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Passos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Maria da Costa got free with Laércio Pinheiro in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. José Maria da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Manoel Paes had to leave the field with a concussion. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rafael Loureiro during the 42nd minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Francisco Paiva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If André Luís Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Caico SS's zone, José Maria da Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Laércio Pinheiro came out of the goal and José Maria da Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Caico SS booed when Tauna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 84 played minutes Tauna got a freekick which was hit by Lenílson Ferraz. Caico SS's Nelson Paiva couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 85th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Tauna. The audience was convinced that Naldo Couto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Francisco Paiva was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Filipe Dantas charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Filipe Dantas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Caico SS booed when Tauna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tauna's Francisco Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naldo Couto in the 96th minute of play.
