Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Gravatal EC's Américo Neto started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Roger Moreno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Américo Neto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rubens Barral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Hugo Albuquerque made a huge save. When Américo Neto came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Gravatal EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Américo Neto couldn't finish the play. If Bruninho Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guaiaca's Roger Moreno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruninho Soares in the 16th minute of play. Vitório Velloso received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hugo Albuquerque came out and tried to block the shot, but Vitório Velloso slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 24th minute. When Pedro Luís Branco fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gravatal EC's protests and gave Pedro Luís Branco a yellow card for diving instead. Rubens Barral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Hugo Albuquerque made a huge save. 37 minutes into the match, Guaiaca's goal looked a bit too open when Américo Neto came free, but Roger Moreno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Américo Neto in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roger Moreno saved Guaiaca from getting behind. 45 minutes into the game, Américo Neto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gravatal EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guaiaca the free kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vitório Velloso was the one to do the kick off. Guaiaca's Vitório Velloso got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rubens Barral in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hugo Albuquerque prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Américo Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roger Moreno was a little too slow when Bruninho Soares got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 1-1. Oséas Diniz, 75 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 82nd minute, Dedé Barreto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 83 in the game by Bruninho Soares from a close distance when the talented Roger Moreno managed to make a qualified save. Guaiaca's players were relieved. In the 84th minute, Bruninho Soares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roger Moreno was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. 90 minutes into the match, Gravatal EC's Américo Neto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roger Moreno narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Víktor Paranaense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
