In the 14thth minute of the game Luís Guilherme Mello who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Assare EC's João Paulo Ferreira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luís Guilherme Mello took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised João Paulo Ferreira. João Paulo Ferreira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Cristóvão Pernambucano's late challenge caught a Assare EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristóvão Pernambucano helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Assare EC booed when Angicos EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalmo Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute, Dalmo Lopes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. João Paulo Ferreira was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Luís Guilherme Mello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Paulo Ferreira having to interfere. Ramón Simão scored 2-2 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dino Sampaio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 42 minutes, Luís Guilherme Mello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Angicos EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Guilherme Mello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Angicos EC's Pedro Luiz Massa got a free kick in the 74th minute. After having played for 78 minutes, Luís Guilherme Mello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Angicos EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Guilherme Mello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Cristóvão Pernambucano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Guilherme Mello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. João Paulo Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Assare EC's João Paulo Ferreira got control of the ball when Luís Guilherme Mello tried to sneak it across the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
