A collision led to Bezerros getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Claudinho Moura hit a great ball. Dênis Paraibano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Júlio Trancoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Júlio Trancoso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Duda Barros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Duda Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafa Sabóia in the 10th minute of play. Duda Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Roberto Borges, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 17 minutes into the game, Júlio Trancoso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Duda Barros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Roberto Borges in the 22nd minute of play forced Domelia AD's goalkeeper Duda Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Zé Roberto Borges came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Bezerros fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Roberto Borges couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Roberto Borges in the 27th minute of play forced Domelia AD's goalkeeper Duda Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diamantino Dracena's late challenge caught a Bezerros's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diamantino Dracena helped the player get up and apologised. In the 28th match minute, Domelia AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diamantino Dracena to maneuver through the defense. Júlio Trancoso struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Duda Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bezerros. Duda Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Roberto Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hílton Saraiva to make the kick off. 60 minutes into the match, Bezerros's goal looked a bit too open when Dênis Paraibano came free, but Luiz Fábio Loyola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Domelia AD's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Roberto Borges came free, but Duda Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute, Alessandro Ceresso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Domelia AD's Hílton Saraiva got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Hílton Saraiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute Hílton Saraiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fábio Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hílton Saraiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Luiz Fábio Loyola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Hílton Saraiva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luiz Fábio Loyola was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Hílton Saraiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Domelia AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Hílton Saraiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fábio Loyola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zé Roberto Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th minute Dênis Paraibano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fábio Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafa Sabóia took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 97th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Duda Barros. Domelia AD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
