Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Maurício Vianna kicked off to start the match. In the 9th minute Josué Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romário da Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, Luciano Goiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 12th minute, Elias Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurício Vianna in the 17th minute of play forced Jucal EC's goalkeeper Carlos Fernando Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 played minutes Brumadinho got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Lopez. Jucal EC's Josué Brasil got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Umberto Brasil's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Romário da Rocha was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Luciano Goiano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 26thth minute tested the skills of Carlos Fernando Pires when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 32nd minute, Abelardo do Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romário da Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Umberto Brasil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maurício Vianna was extremely unlucky when he, in the 40th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Romário da Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josué Brasil in the 43rd minute of play. André Luís Hoffmann kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The Brumadinho players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Jucal EC were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Umberto Brasil stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 57 played minutes, Brumadinho's Nilton Salgado shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carlos Fernando Pires came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Brumadinho reached it. After a rather tough play, Jucal EC's José Pedro Toledo got a free kick in the 58th minute. Umberto Brasil struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Romário da Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jucal EC. 68 minutes into the match, Jucal EC's Umberto Brasil sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Romário da Rocha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. During the 71st minute of the match Abelardo do Nascimento completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Abelardo do Nascimento a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maurício Vianna in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Fernando Pires prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sandro Baptista during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Luciano Goiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Carlos Fernando Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90thth minute of the game Luciano Goiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jucal EC's Carlos Fernando Pires was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Josué Brasil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jucal EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Josué Brasil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romário da Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
